Together, Girl Scouts of the USA and Refried created a scalable circular program that turns sustainability into a meaningful member experience. The program allows Girl Scouts and Girl Scout Alumnae to transform their retired uniforms into practical, stylish, one-of-a-kind tote bags that preserve the memories and meaning behind their Girl Scout journey.
More than a sustainability initiative, the program creates a new way to engage members, extend the life of branded materials, and turn retired uniforms into products with lasting value. Each upcycled tote becomes a tangible story of participation and responsible resource use—demonstrating firsthand how products can be kept in use rather than discarded.
It’s sustainability members can see, use, and carry with them—while strengthening their connection to the Girl Scouts brand.
